The Most High, in His infinite wisdom, created our brains to learn and retain information in a variety of ways. People have studied the characteristics of these learning styles and categorized them.
These are listed in alphabetical order not in order of importance.

Musical/Auditory
Physical/Kinesthetic
Solitary
Social
Verbal
Visual

Combination
Enjoys learning best through a mixture of all or a few of the other learning styles. Try different parings of learning styles to figure out what your learner needs most.

Logical/Mathematical
Enjoys learning best through reasoning, sequencing, numbers, and analysis. Using timeline, maps, patterns, coding, and sequencing activities are ways to help this learner retain information.

Musical/Auditory
Enjoys learning best through listening to spoken words, sounds, rhythms, and music. Reading aloud, writing songs or raps, and using instruments foster greater retention for this learner.

Physical/Kinesthetic
Enjoys learning best by actively using your sense of touch and movement. Running while doing a learning activity, building a model, conducting experiments, and dancing are all wonderful ways to engage this learner.

Social
Enjoys learning by studying and doing activities in a group setting or with a partner. Hosting discussions, participating in group projects, interview someone, or being a part of cooperative scenarios are ways to engage this learner.

Solitary
Enjoys learning by studying and completing activities by themselves. Keeping a journal, teaching a concept to themselves, or working in quiet spots may help this type of learner.

Verbal
Enjoys learning through speaking. Debating, reading aloud, and retelling stories or concepts are ways to engage this learner.

Visual
Enjoys learning when they have visual aids. Provide this learner with pictures, charts, images, diagrams, and videos to activate and foster deeper retention.

Use Learning Styles as a Tool
When we, as homeschooling parents differentiate our ways of teaching by incorporating various learning styles, we can effectively teach my child in the best way that she can connect with the material and boost comprehension.
If you always teach concepts in lecture style, but your child doesn't really seem to grasp it, guess what? As a homeschooling parent you have the freedom to switch it up. Try a new approach. Put down the textbook or worksheet,
Grab blocks to teach patterns (Logical/Mathematical).
Create or reenact a play to teach a history lesson (Combination of Verbal, Visual, Musical/Auditory, Social, Physical/Kinesthetic).
Read aloud a living book or nonfiction book about the topic of study (Combination of Verbal and Musical/Auditory)
By incorporating a variety of activities, the child will grasp the concept in one of those ways. Say that I am teaching the Creation story. Here are suggested ways to teach this topic through many learning styles.
Sing the Days of Creation Song (Musical/Kinesthetic).
Use cards to put the days of Creation in the correct order (Physical/Kinesthetic).
Conduct experiments about clouds.
Go to an aquarium or zoo to view the Most High's creatures.
Watch the Amazing Animals Playlist.
Take a nature walk while completing a nature scavenger hunt.
Read the actual Bible verses about the Creation
Have children debate Creationism vs. Big Bang Theory.
Coloring Sheet for the Days of Creation
Listen to an audio story about the Creation.
In a public our private school classroom, individualized differentiated learning cannot happen. But in your homeschool, your child will understand concepts faster and retain more because you are putting in the extra effort to aid in comprehension by varying teaching techniques that cater to their learning styles.
